Koning Corporation is a privately held medical imaging company located in West Henrietta, New York. The Company was founded on innovative Cone Beam CT research conducted at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) and funded by $8.2 million in Grants from the National Institutes of Health. In 2004, the Company was awarded a $2.65 million Small Business Innovative Research Grant from NIH to develop and commercialize a Cone Beam CT for Breast Imaging. This Grant and $800k from individual investors has enabled Koning and the URMC to produce the first Koning CT for Breast and Extremities which has been producing excellent results in a small pilot study at the URMC since June 2006. A second system is under construction and will be installed at a major breast imaging facility in early 2007. The Company will file for FDA clearance (510K) in early 2007 and expects to be on the market by midyear. Koning’s innovative technology is protected by 8 issued and 3 pending patents with exclusive worldwide license from URMC.
